Pen Hook and Needle Podcast is hosting their Autism Awareness 2015 CAL/KAL
PHN 3rd Annual Autisma Awareness (ITS OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT) KAL/CAL. The purpose of this craft along is to promote awareness of Autism and other autistic spectrum disorders, such as Asperger’s Syndrome. This is something that is close to my heart and to Tahlia’s since my daughter (Tahlia’s sister) suffers from Asperger’s syndrome.
Although April is autism awareness month, we will be running the CAL/KAL from April 1st through June 30th. We appreciate your support and want this to be fun for you so that as many people as possible will take part--that’s why we’re running this over three months.
Here is the pertinent information thus far:
• We will begin the CAL/KALApril 1st and end on June 30th. Projects must be started no earlier than April 1st and finished no later than June 30th, 2014 Addendum can be started at any time but must be worked and/or finished between April 1st through June 30th to be eligible for prizes. Addendum: WIPs and FOs will be eligible for prizes.
• Please tag your projects with the following tag:AA2015.
• You must be a member of the group to which you post the project.
• Projects must be knit or crocheted and be bright colored. Black, white, neutrals and non brights should be kept to a minimum in the project (at least ¾ of the project should be bright. (Fibretown, Undead Yarn and Nickelo’s World groups may have slightly different rules):
You may post on WIP photo per project per week. FOs may be posted whenever they are completed.
We will have prizes

Current Knit-A-Longs:
The girls are also hosting a 12 socks in 2015 KAL. Each month, the girls and everyone who decides to join, will cast on a pair of socks on the first and bind off by the end of the month. Those who finish a pair of socks in each month will be eligible to win a sock pattern. Winners will be chosen among those who have posted their finished pair of socks by the end of the month by random number generator.

From May 01, 2015 until June 30, 2015, Caffeinated Knitting will be hosting an Oblivious Knits KAL! Knit any of Deborah’s patterns between this time to be entered for prizes (to be discussed soon). There is a chatter thread in the group and a finished object thread has been added. We are excited to see your yarn and pattern combos!

  1. Where did the Rocky Horror kit come from? I may have overlooked it in your notes, sorry if I did.

    Thank you

    1. Hey Cindy! Not sure if you found the answer for this (and we never got notification of your comment!) but the kit came from Fondant Fibre =]
